Why does it seem to me that every plan I hear from the left is a single minded solution? Find alternative fuels. That seem to be the only thing that they have to say. What do you think?
It's not find alternative fuels, it's support their development. Alternative energy sources have long since been found, but because of government indifference, it tough for them to get traction. If some of the subsidies that, say, the nuclear power folks get from the government were turned loose for wind, solar and geothermal development, there would soon be an explosion in their use as a price point would be reached where these alternatives would be viable for consumers.
Finding alternative fuels sounds like such a great and caring idea. It isn't finding them that is the problem. It is the implementation that it hard. All the raving about the hydrogen fuel cell... Honda has a hydrogen fuel cell car. Seen any hyrdogen stations lately? Anyone? Bio fuels seemed like a great plan, until the left started whining that it is going to impact the food supply. Nuke-ya-lar? Nope. Coal. Nope. What if we could get energy straight out of the air? Think they'd approve of that? No. Getting energy requires a reaction. That reaction necessarily changes the fuel into something else. The change reaction is where the energy comes from, so we'd be changing air into something else. They would not like that. Seems to me the problem on the left is that they don't really like the laws of physics very much. Maybe they can have one of their activist judges change them. My $0.02.
But Willie!!!! It sounds good to the masses! You don't expect the left to actually HAVE A PLAN do you?
We need to drill here, now, use wind, solar power. Find alternatives. Walk more, bike more, use less. There are hundreds of things we can and should be doing.
I was just watching the news and they were whining about how long it will take to actually get oil from off shoring or ANWAR. Like why bother? DUH! If you never start we'll never get the oil. We could be more than halfway there had we started 10+ years ago.
"Alternative Fuels" has been reduced to a buzzword.
The left says "find" because they don't want to acknowledge that technologies are created, because it is from technology that we gain wealth, and they are in no way going to acknowledge that wealth is not a zero-sum game. That would kill their power. So it is better to talk about technologies as if they were lying around under a rock somewhere for somebody to find.
The real answer is to get the government and the enviro-wackos out of the way of energy development. We need all of it, from every source including the ones we have not fully developed and the ones that have yet to be invented. We need it all, I'm with T. Boone on this one.
Governments mess up everything they get involved with. They have throughout history. Our founding fathers knew this, and that is why they invented limited government. Until we can get the message blasted out loud and clear about this and turn our country around, we will stagnate and suffer. Which is exactly what the left wants.

Anyone who has been to Europe knows the effectiveness of a well planned mass transist system, we will need one in American sooner rather than later but no one seems to understand and when they do build mass transist they keep re inventing the wheel and jacking up the costs. The "kiss' principle should be used now.
